CORVALLIS, Ore. – The six teams for the 2022 Cascade Collegiate Conference Softball Championship Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, have been set, the conference office announced Saturday.
No. 3-ranked Oregon Tech secured the regular-season conference title after defeating Bushnell University on Saturday, earning the right to host the six-team tournament as the top seed. The six-team, three-day, double-elimination tournament will be held May 6-8 in Klamath Falls, Ore.
No. 10-ranked Southern Oregon University picked up the second seed since it holds the tie-breaker over Eastern Oregon University, which will enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed. Seventh-ranked College of Idaho grabbed the No. 4 seed, while UBC makes its return to the tournament as the No. 5 seed and Corban University rounds out the six teams as the No. 6 seed.
With the regular-season title, the Owls picked up the CCC's first automatic qualifier (AQ) to the NAIA Tournament, with the second AQ going to the winner of the CCC tournament. If OIT wins the tournament, the second AQ will be awarded to the conference tournament runner-up.
