No. 1 OIT completes the CCC sweep over No. 3 Yotes

Box Score 1 KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - No. 1 Oregon Tech completed the three game conference sweep over the No. 3 Yotes, 11-0, thanks to an eight run third inning en route to the victory. 

The Yotes came out swinging straight away in game one of the contest, as Haley Loffer led off the contest with a single, her 27th hit of the season. Kaily Christensen and Sydney Zachry also contributed in the hit column, each tallying one base knock.

The bulk of the offense for the No. 1 Owls came in the bottom of the third inning, scoring eight runs on eight hits. Maggie Buckholz added a two-RBI double, which saw the Owls take a 3-0 lead early in the third inning. Jayce Seavert hit a three run homerun in the bottom of the fourth inning, which drove in the last of the Owls runs.

In the circle, it was another masterful performance from the Owls' Sarah Amundson, adding to her school record for career wins, tallying her 15th victory on the season. She gave up three hits and struck out five en route to the victory.

Game two saw the Owls jump out to an early lead, tallying a run in the bottom of the second inning. Jensen Becker doubled in the bottom of the second, resulting in the first Owl run of the contest. Kennedy Jantzi hit a home run in the bottom of the fourth as the Owls jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning. 

Makenna Luke opened the scoring for the Yotes in the top of the fifth, doubling to left center field. Hallie Holland led the team at the plate going 2-for-3 with a double. Six different Yotes tallied hits in the game, ending with seven hits.

C of I starting pitcher Annie Polster went the distance, going six innings, allowing eight hits and five earned runs. For the Owls, McKenzie Staub also went the distance, allowing seven hits and only one earned run, striking out 10.

Up next for the Yotes is a four game home series with Carroll College on March 25-26.
