CALDWELL, Idaho - Facing a two set to none deficit, the College of Idaho volleyball rallied to win in five over Evergreen State for a special senior day for
Danielle Neuman and
Ali Carpenter. It was an all-around team effort for the Yotes, who were victorious by a 22-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-13 win over the visiting Geoducks.
Setter Analise Hitchcock had a double double with 52 assists and 10 digs and Carpenter put the finishing touches on her career with 21 digs in the win for the College of Idaho. Also with a double double was
Emily Vandenberg, who had 15 kills and 12 digs as four Yotes recorded double-digit kills - Janae Rayborn (18), Gabriella Rios (13) and
Chayla Slavin (10).
College of Idaho led just twice each in the first two sets but there was a lot of fight within the Yotes roster. The third set saw the host Yotes hold the Geoducks to a .000 hitting percentage and Rayborn put down four kills to lead College of Idaho, who hit .091 to secure the third set by a 25-21 margin. The fourth set saw the momentum in the JAAC find its way into the College of Idaho huddle on the strength of five kills from Vandenberg, who also had two service aces to even the match with a 25-18 win.
The deciding fifth set saw College of Idaho jump out to a 10-4 lead on the Geoducks on its way to a 15-13 win in the set. Rayborn put down five more kills including the gamewinner for the Yotes, who hit at a .250 clip.
