WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The historic season for the Yotes women's soccer team comes to an end in Florida, dropping the contest with Keiser by a score of 1-0.
The Yotes defense was strong in the first half, holding Keiser without a shot on goal in a half for the first time this season. The defense would continue to shine throughout the first 15 minutes of the second half until Keiser's Oline Sundgot scores in the 68th minute, as the Seahawks would carry the one goal lead into being the final.
Hannah McFadden recorded four saves in the game, and the senior goalkeeper's season ends with the most shutouts in school history at 11. The Yotes season ends with the most wins in school history (16) and the most goals in school history (50).
"This was the best performance in the history of Yotes women's soccer," added head coach
Brian Smith. "I cannot be more proud and honored of this team and coaches. We were just tremendous. Holding the No. 1 team in the nation to five shots on goal. The full game was unreal. Truly our greatest performance in the 35 years as a program."
