PORTLAND, Ore. –
Emily Vandenberg led all players with 12 kills, leading The College of Idaho to a 3-set victory over Multnomah University at Jim Skagen Court.
The win for the Coyotes (6-9, 3-4 CCC) completed a weekend sweep in the Rose City and was their third win in their last four matches.
C of I dominated Set 1, scoring nine of the first 10 points of the match and rolled to their opening win.
The Lions (2-6, 1-6) answered the call in Set 2, scoring the first six points and extending the lead to 17-10 on a Madison Gombio kill. The Yotes responded in a big way, as a pair of
Danielle Neuman kills started a 10-2 run to give C of I the lead, with a Vandenberg kill breaking a 22-22 tie – as the visitors stole the set win.
The Coyotes closed out the win with a 7-0 run in Set 3, erasing a 14-11 MU lead – as Vandenberg had four kills in the set.
Vandenberg added eight digs and three blocks in the win, with Neuman recording eight kills and four blocks.
Brenna Hawkins had six kills and four blocks,
Sidney Frith had 17 assists,
Isabelle Combs recording 13 digs, with both
Ella Fischer and
Sydnee Steel recording three aces.
Kamalie Labanon led the Lions with six kills, with libero Alyssa Mehalovich leading all players with 21 digs.
C of I continues their road swing next weekend with matches at Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon.
