COLUMBUS, Ga. – A historic season came to an end for College of Idaho softball on Tuesday night, as the Yotes fell 9-0 to Southern Oregon to conclude an impressive postseason run with a third-place finish at the NAIA World Series.
The Yotes (44-19) set a school-record for wins in a season on their way to the highest finish on the national level for the softball program in C of I history.
SOU (53-6) advances to the championship series set to start at 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday against fellow Cascade Conference foe Oregon Tech. The Raiders can force the if-necessary game by winning the first contest.
After a scoreless first two innings for each side on Tuesday, the Raiders plated two runs in the third, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and four in the sixth to come out on top in the six-inning affair.

Kylie Smith led the way offensively for the Yotes with a pair of hits.
With OIT and SOU meeting in the championship, all of the top three finishers at the NAIA World Series will come from the Cascade Conference.
