CALDWELL, Idaho – Rylee Troutman and Avari Ridgway combined for 21 kills, leading No. 13 Corban University to a 3-set victory over The College of Idaho inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Warriors (10-3, 10-3 CCC) secured a postseason berth with the win, using a 41-26 edge in kills and adding seven aces in the 25-15, 25-21, 25-17 victory.
Ridgway had two kills in a 6-1 run to open the match, rolling to the Set 1 win.
Set 2 was the most competitive, as a
Chloe Knudson ace capped a 3-point run by the Yotes (4-11, 4-9), giving the hosts a 10-8 lead. The Coyotes were within 19-18 following a Corban serving error, but a stuff block by Ridgway keyed a 4-0 run that put the set away for the visitors.
Rylee Troutman posted three kills for Corban in a 14-4 run in Set 3 that broke open a 7-6 score.
C of I struggled offensively, hitting at a .084 attack percentage.
Jade Warren had six kills in 12 swings without an error and added three blocks. Both
Alyssa Espley and Knudson had two aces, with Knudson leading the Yotes with 17 digs.
Troutman led all players with 11 kills and Ridgway had 10 in the win, with setter Jadyn Mullen posting 21 assists and libero Kealani Ontai finishing with 24 digs.
The two teams close out the regular-season tomorrow night at 5 p.m. – with C of I honoring their lone senior,
Brianna Barta, in a pre-match ceremony.
