EUGENE, Ore. –
Taylor Alexander and
Ashley Pagan combined for 24 kills, as the College of Idaho rebounded from a tough Friday loss to sweep Northwest Christian inside Morse Event Center.
The No. 12 ranked Lady Yotes (11-5, 6-2 CCC) earned the 25-19, 25-20, 25-16 victory – improving to 22-1 all-time against the Beacons.
C of I erased a 15-14 NCU (6-8, 1-6) lead in Set 1 – getting aces from
Zuri Meehan and
Josie Whitehead in a 7-1 run to turn the tide and win the period.
Alexander was the key in Set 2, spiking five balls in eight swings to help C of I control the set, while in Set 3, the Yotes opened on a 6-0 run, adding three team blocks and hit at a .323 clip to complete the sweep.
Alexander had a match-high 14 kills, with Pagan recording 10 kills, 11 digs and four aces to lead C of I.
Danielle Neuman had six kills and two blocks and
Mackenzie Keating had five kills in the victory.
Megan Van Marten led NCU with seven kills and four blocks, as the Yotes limited the Beacons to a .109 hitting percentage.
C of I returns home on Thursday night, hosting No. 17 ranked Eastern Oregon at 7 p.m.
