CALDWELL, Idaho – College of Idaho held a commanding 47-31 edge in kills, adding seven aces and six team blocks, as the Lady Yotes ran their win streak to four games with a three-set victory over Multnomah University inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
Taylor Alexander led all players 13 kills in the 25-20, 25-19, 25-19 victory for the No. 16-ranked Lady Yotes (15-6, 10-3 CCC).
The Lions (4-17, 2-11) played tough throughout – using a four-point run, keyed by a combo-block by Madison Schuh and Sydney Amundsen – to take a 4-2 lead in Set 1. C of I answered with a four-point push of their own – including two
Mackenzie Keating kills to regain the lead and would not trail the rest of the night. Both Alexander, Keating and
Ashley Pagan had three kills in the set.
Consecutive kills from
Jackie van Vliet helped C of I take a quick 7-2 lead in Set 2 and were never headed, while in Set 3, MU closed within 13-12 on a Maile Kam kill, before five-straight C of I points broke the frame wide open.
Keating had a career-high nine kills, with Pagan and van Vliet each recording seven.
Marija Djonovic had 22 assists and two aces;
Margie Beeler added 20 assists; with
Drew Dobney leading all players with 14 digs.
Miranda Halverson led the Lions with 10 kills with setter Marissa Rhodes finishing with 28 assists, six digs and two aces.
C of I closes out the weekend tomorrow with a 5 p.m. matchup vs. Warner Pacific.
