SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Eastern Oregon took advantage of their only two shots on goal, scoring a pair of first half goals in a 2-0 victory over the College of Idaho in the semifinals of the Cascade Conference Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Les Schwab Park.
The Yotes (7-9-2) had an 11-10 edge in total shots, but could not find the net on the day - as EOU advances to meet Northwest in Monday's final.
The Mountaineers (12-3-2) opened the scoring in the 27th minute, as Natalie Mitchell collected a loose ball in the middle of the box and drove the 12-yard-shot into the goal. Just before halftime, EOU added to their lead, when Cailan Koupal pounced on a ball of a corner kick and flicked home a 6-yard strike for the 2-0 lead.
Cyndi Cottrell made three saves on the day for EOU in the victory.
