Lady Yotes Drop Top-25 Match-Up at Corban

SALEM, Ore. - In a battle of Top-25 teams, Corban University outlasted the College of Idaho in four sets inside C.E. Jeffers Center to take over sole possession of first-place in the Cascade Conference.

The No. 15 ranked Warriors (20-7, 15-3 CCC) earned a 25-16, 25-20, 22-25, 25-23 win - moving a game clear of Eastern Oregon and two games clear of C of I heading into the final weekend of the regular season.

Corban got a pair of kills from Adriana Aguayo in a 5-0 first set run to take a 9-4 lead, while a 5-1 run Set 2 broke open a 19-18 score, as the hosts won the opening two frames.

The No. 13 ranked Lady Yotes (21-5, 13-5) responded late in Set 3, as four late Warrior errors helped C of I close the set on a 7-2 run to prolong the match.  The two squads were stalemated at 20-20, one of 14 ties in the period, before three kills from Marandah Boeder keyed a late Corban push to close the match.

Taylor Alexander led the Yotes with 13 kills, with Ashley Pagan and Jackie van Vliet each logging 12 kills. Marija Djonovic had 47 assists and 15 digs, with Kilee Lopez leading all players with 26 digs.

Amber Parker led Corban with 16 kills, with Aguayo adding 15 in the victory.

C of I closes out the home portion of the regular season with a Thursday match vs. Eastern Oregon and a Friday afternoon tussle with Walla Walla.
