PORTLAND, Ore. - Despite four players with 10 or more kills, the College of Idaho could not overcome 33 hitting errors in a tough 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 15-10 loss at Multnomah University.
The Lady Yotes (17-4, 9-4 CCC) rallied from a 20-16 deficit in Set 4 to force a winner-take-all fifth frame, but C of I never led in the final period, as MU got a pair of Patty Batoon kills in a three-point surge to take a 13-8 lead and eased to the win.
The loss overshadowed a big night from
Jackie van Vliet, who had 13 kills and a season-high nine blocks.
Alaina Slater had 12 kills,
Mali Sawyer had 11 and
Chloe Lampman added 10.
Marija Djonovic had 50 assists for C of I, while
Kilee Lopez led all players with 31 digs.
Batoon led the Lions (5-15, 2-11) with 12 kills with Madysen Trout setting an MU school record with 10 total blocks.
C of I looks to rebound tomorrow night with a 5 p.m. (PT) match at Warner Pacific.
