CALDWELL, Idaho - Senior
Randi Sturtz led the match with a career high 18 kills as College of Idaho rolled Walla Walla University in three straight sets on senior night at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center on Saturday.
The Lady Yotes (19-9, 14-6 CCC) controlled the match early with an 11-2 run over the Walla Walla (1-21, 0-19 CCC) highlighted by two services aces by
Ashley Pagan. The Yotes claimed the first set 25-11 after a 7-0 run from server
Sydney Call.
The College of Idaho captured a commanding 16-5 lead in the second set after a 9-0 run by senior server
Katy Robinson. Robinson ended the set on a kill from Call to earn the 25-14 victory.
The Wolves battled back in the final set to an early 6-5 lead before the Lady Yotes put away the set on a 7-0 run to sweep Walla Walla 25-19.
Sturtz led all attackers with 18 kills while Pagan was second with 10 kills. Call tallied a match high 38 assists and
Cheyan Coburn led the Lady Yotes with 15 digs.
The College of Idaho returns to the court on Tuesday night to host Southern Oregon in the first round of the Cascade Conference Tournament. The Yotes defeated the Raiders at home in their last match 3-1 on October 29.
