Lady Yotes Serve Up a Quick Win at Multnomah

PORTLAND, Ore. – Brenna Meehan had six of College of Idaho's season-high 13 service aces as the Lady Yotes made quick work of Multnomah University at Jim Skagen Court.

The Lady Yotes (16-9, 11-6 CCC) cruised to a 25-19, 25-13, 25-8 win over the Lions – logging the most aces in a match since the opening game of the 2012 season.

Meehan finished with match-highs of 10 kills and nine digs for C of I, pulling the team one win away from clinching a postseason berth.

The host Lions (9-19, 3-13) hung tough in Set 1, grabbing a 16-11 lead on a Coyote attack error.  However, Jackie van Vliet was in on three combo-blocks in a 10-1 C of I push that put the set away and set the tone for the rest of the match.

C of I never trailed in Set 2, jumping to a 5-0 lead and used a 12-3 surge, including back-to-back Jayde Folsom aces to blow open the frame. Set 3 was a no-doubter, as Meehan had two aces in a 9-2 run to open the set, adding two more aces in an eight-point run to close the match.

Ashley Pagan and van Vliet each had five kills – as the Yotes combined to hit at a .288 clip, including a .533 percentage in Set 3. Folsom had 16 assists and three aces and van Vliet led the team with four blocks.

Miranda Halverson had eight kills for MU, as the Yotes forced the Lions into more attack errors (25) than kills (23).

C of I closes out the regular-season with three home matches, starting Friday vs. Oregon Tech.
