KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Kylie Porter recorded a career-high 19 kills and added five blocks, helping the College of Idaho outlast Oregon Tech in five sets 25-22, 24-26, 23-25, 25-21, 15-11, inside Danny Miles Court.
The Lady Yotes (8-7, 5-1 CCC) withstood 36 hitting errors and 14 total blocks by OIT to win their fifth-straight match overall and their 12th in a row over the Owls.
After Tech (14-5, 4-2) rallied to take Set 2 and Set 3, the Yotes used a 9-2 surge to take control of the frame and force the winner-take-all final period. In Set 5, the Coyotes broke a 11-11 tie on a bad set by OIT, running off four-straight points to end the match – including a pair of blocks and a kill by Porter.
Emily Ottinger had 13 kills in the victory, with Bailee Kendall adding 10. Sierra Porter had 52 kills, nine digs, and seven kills, with Janessa Koelliker adding six kills and a team-high seven blocks. Libero Kilee Lopez had a career-high 35 digs.
Renee Baumann led OIT with 16 kills and 16 digs, with Mykala Rubey recording 14 kills and six digs. Tori Porter had 23 assists and 11 digs in the loss, with Madisen Garlie leading the Owls with 10 blocks.
C of I returns to action tomorrow at 5 p.m., traveling to No. 14 Southern Oregon.
