Box Score CALDWELL, Idaho - Kylie Porter and Emily Ottinger each recorded 10 kills, leading an efficient College of Idaho attack, as the Lady Yotes defeated Northwest Christian, 25-14, 25-17, 25-17, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The win was the third in a row for the Coyotes (6-7, 3-1 CCC) and improved C of I to 15-0 all-time against the Beacons.
NCU (3-5, 1-4) started quick in Set 1, getting three early Cassidy Winters kills to take a 6-4 lead. Â C of I ran off four-straight points to take the lead for good, then took advantage of five Beacon hitting errors in a 7-0 surge to extend the lead to 18-10.
The visitors stayed close in Set 2, closing the gap to 14-11 on a Winters spike. Â The Yotes put the frame away with three Bailee Kendall kills in a 6-0 run to take a two-set lead.
C of I was never threatened in Set 3, as Katy Robinson and Ottinger each had two kills in a 10-2 run to open the period - securing the Yotes third-straight three-set victory.
Porter added a team-high six blocks on the night - as the Yotes combined for 11 total blocks. Â Sierra Porter had 31 assists and 12 digs in the win, with Robinson recording nine kills.
NCU was led by eight kills from Chelsea McGowan and seven spikes from Winters. Â Alyssa Dorr recorded 22 assists, with Kayla Ping and Haley Damian each recording 14 digs in the loss.
The Yotes close out the weekend with a 5 p.m. match-up Saturday vs. Corban.
