Box Score CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho scored the only goal of the match, by way of a Jamiece Yizar cross to the top of the 6-yard box and sent to the top right corner of the net from the boot of Katelyn Benavidez.
Benavidez led the Lady Yotes with 3 shots, two of which were on target to go with the game winning score.
Mandi Achten of Rocky Mountain led the Bears with six shots, three of which were on goal, but was unable to capitalize on any of the opportunities.
Rocky Mountain (2-1-0) entered the game unbeaten, but was unable to send any scoring opportunities home, suffering their first loss of the season. The Bears had more shots than the Yotes, 11-10, with both teams putting 7 on target.
The Lady Yotes used a duo of goalies in the victory over the Bears, with freshman Brittany Houghton getting the nod to start. Aimee Pierson took over the goaltending duties in the second half, saving three shots.
The C of I improves to 2-1-0 on the season and will head to Salt Lake City to take on Arizona Christian and Westminster next Saturday and Sunday, the 6
