Box Score CALDWELL, IDAHO - The College of Idaho women's soccer team notched their first win of the 2014 season with a 4-1 route of Northwest Nazarene Wednesday at Simplot Stadium.
The Crusaders (0-0-0), who played the match today as an exhibition, got the early lead with a goal from Laura Seymour in the 25th minute.
C of I quickly answered as Katelyn Benavidez drilled one home off a great pass from Summer Jackson, 32 seconds after NNU scored.
The Lady Yotes took the lead in the 30th minute on a score from the foot of Jamiece Yizar, assist from Camas Curran.
The College of Idaho added two more goals in the second half to run away from the Crusaders, 4-1. Second half goals came from an 18-yard blast from Julia Fretwell in the 73rd minute and a Summer Jackson penalty kick at the 76 minute mark.
The Lady Yotes led the Crusaders in shots 17 to 15, but had one fewer shots on goal, 8 to 7.
The Yotes improve to 1-1-0 on the season and will play host to Rocky Mountain, Friday at Simplot Stadium.
