CALDWELL, Idaho – McKensie Stanton went 3-for-6 with a homer and three RBI, helping The College of Idaho split a pair of games on the final day of the C of I/NNU Classic at Symms Field.

The Lady Yotes (5-4) opened the day with an 8-5 victory over Great Falls, before British Columbia toppled C of I in six innings, 9-1.

UGF (2-4) strung together four first inning hits to take a 2-0 lead, but C of I got an RBI double from Alexis Macias and a Julia Henrie RBI single in the bottom of the inning to even the tally.

A Madison Cushing RBI single in the second gave the Yotes a 3-2 lead, but the Argos regained the lead in the third on a long Kelli O'Brien homer. Stanton tied it up with one swing in the bottom of the frame, slugging a two-run home run, then gave C of I the lead at 6-5 in the fifth with a run-scoring single – while an inning later, the hosts added a pair of insurance runs.

Cortni Pena notched the win, allowing eight hits and striking out four for the victory. Cushing, Macias, and Stanton each had two hits CU.

Game 2 was unlucky for the Yotes, as the T-Birds (6-8) took advantage of three C of I errors to plate seven unearned runs in the mercy-rule victory.

Lindsey Ogilive hit a three-run homer in a four-run third inning to give UBC a 4-0 lead, while an inning later, Jasmin Bains lined a three-run double with two outs give the visitors a 7-0 lead.

It was enough for Alana Westerhof, who limited the Yotes to just four hits, including a fifth-inning RBI single by Ashley Van Horne.

C of I returns to action next Friday, hosting Northwest Nazarene in a doubleheader.
