Lady Yotes and Geoducks Play to Senior Day Draw

Box Score CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho scored an equalizer goal in the 77th minute as the Lady Yotes played to a 2-2 draw against The Evergreen State College at Simplot Stadium.

The Geoducks (4-9-1, 2-4-1 CCC) got off to a quick start as Vanessa Zamora crossed a ball from the corner to Amy Bromley who touched it to the top of the eighteen and Haleigh Ryneski capped off the play with a shot to the back of the net.

The Lady Yotes (6-4-4, 3-1-3) answered quickly in the 13th minute, as Lauren Polito sent a through-ball to the middle of the box and Julia Fretwell flicked it to the left corner of the net.

Evergreen would regain the lead in the 66th minute as Bromley scored off a corner kick from Delaney Smith.

C of I would get even 11 minutes later, as Hailey Woods sent a 40-yard free kick to the left corner of the box finding Summer Jackson, who hammered home her third tally of the season into the left corner of the net.

The Lady Yotes would get a final chance to win in regulation, but Katelyn Benavidez's 1-on-1 shot in the 89th minute was saved by Geoduck keeper Kyla Kitts.

C of I had the first golden goal opportunity in the 92nd minute when an unmarked Camas Curran's header went high.

In the second extra time period, Evergreen withstood a Lady Yotes one-on-one attempt in the 108th minute when Benavidez attempt down the right side was saved by a diving Kitts.

The Lady Yotes outshot the Geoducks 4-1 in the extra time periods and 17-12 on the afternoon.

Senior Aimee Pierson got the start for the Lady Yotes in the net, playing the first 47 minutes, allowing one goal with three saves. Freshman Brittany Houghton replaced Pierson in the 48th minute and would finish the remainder of the match, allowing one goal.

Pierson, Polito, and Katy Radko were honored prior to the game - playing their final regular-season contest at Simplot Stadium.

C of I will be back in action next Thursday when they travel to Corban University in Salem, Ore.
