SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - A pair of second half breakaway goals lifted the University of Great Falls to their first-ever win over the College of Idaho, a 2-0 decision this afternoon at Dumke Field.
After a scoreless first half, the Argos (2-4-1) broke through in the 55th minute, as Jazmine Aguirre pounced on a loose ball and made a long run into box, touching home the eventual game-winner. Seven minutes later, UGF struck again, as Danielle DeLaVina made a run and lined a shot into the right corner of the net to extend the margin to 2-0.
The Lady Yotes (2-5), who dropped their third-straight match, had four shots over the final 25 minutes and a pair of corner kicks - but did not get a shot on frame. UGF keeper Jocelyn Morris made just two saves to earn her first shutout.
