SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Nicole Carter scored a goal and an assist, as Westminster College limited The College of Idaho to just one shot on the afternoon, defeating the Lady Yotes, 4-0, at Dumke Field.
The Griffins (4-5) dominated the afternoon, holding a commanding 13-1 edge in total shots and a 7-0 edge in corner kicks in the victory - taking the lead for good in the 27th minute, when Abigail Black chipped a ball into the penalty box, where Tiana Cerciello headed home the initial tally.
WC would make it 2-0 in the 38th minute, as Jessica Harris played a long ball into the box, finding the feet of Brianna Wilson, who drove a 15-yard shot into the net.
Carter made it 3-0 early in the second half, drilling home a rebound of a blocked Madison Roemer shot in the 57th minute, then played a ball into the box three minutes later that founded the foot of Lexi Tucker to cap the scoring.
Abi Yanke turned away the one shot by the Lady Yotes (2-4) to pick up her first career shutout.
The C of I returns to action tomorrow at 11:30 a.m., meeting Great Falls.
