Lady Yotes Win Overtime Thriller in Montana

Box Score HELENA, Mont. - Jamiece Yizar scored the Golden Goal on a breakaway six minutes into overtime, leading The College of Idaho to a 3-2 upset victory over nationally-ranked Biola University at the Carroll College Labor Day Classic in Nelson Stadium.

Box Score

After keeper Aimee Pierson made a pair of saves early in the overtime session, Yizar made a run through the midfield and slotted the game-winner past Eagles (1-1) keeper Briana Williams for C of I's first-ever win against the California school.

The Yotes (1-1) had to play catch-up in the second half, erasing a 2-1 deficit in the 67th minute, as Devhan Morgan headed home a free kick from Katy Radko to even the score.

Biola opened the scoring in the opening half, as Amanda Otto found space at the top of the 18 and cracked a shot into the netting. However, C of I answered in the 38th minute, as Morgan found a head on a free kick from Radko at the far post to knot the score at 1-1. A minute later, the Eagles retook the lead, as Mariah Ziemer made a long run down the left side and scored.

C of I earned the win despite a 17-9 deficit in shots, with Pierson making four saves in the final 51 minutes to earn the win in goal.

The Coyotes return to action next weekend in Spokane at the Red Lion Cascade/Frontier Challenge.
