Box Score
OLYMPIA, Wash. - A two-goal deficit was too big for The College of Idaho to overcome, as the Lady Yotes dropped a 2-1 decision to The Evergreen State College at CRC Field #4.
The loss for C of I (3-10, 1-5 CCC) was their fifth in a row - while the win for ESC was their first against the Yotes since the 2007 season.
The Geoducks (3-7, 2-3) opened the scoring in the 31st minute, as Sophie Krauza took a cross in the middle of the box and flicked home the ball for a 1-0 lead. The teams would play even for nearly the next 50 minutes, before ESC scored a crucial goal in the 81st minute, as Rayna Murphy played a long through-ball to the feet of Jasmine Berlin, who scored in a 1-on-1 opportunity for a two-goal advantage.
The Yotes would answer less than a minute later, as Camas Curran played a ball in the box to Summer Jackson, who tallied her second goal of 2013, cutting the margin to 2-1. However, C of I would not get another shot attempt the rest of the afternoon.
C of I lost despite having a 12-8 edge in shots and a 3-1 edge in corner kicks - with Geoducks keeper Kyla Kitts making four saves for the victory.
The Coyotes return home next week to close out their home schedule, hosting Corban on Thursday and Northwest Christian on Saturday.
