EUGENE, Ore. - Torrey Hulsey had a match-high 13 kills, leading The College of Idaho to their 11th-straight win, a 25-22, 25-23, 25-16 victory at Northwest Christian, tonight in the Morse Events Center.

The Lady Yotes (14-4, 11-0 CCC) remained unbeaten in Cascade Conference play, opening up a two-game lead on Southern Oregon in the loop standings after the Raiders lost at home to Warner Pacific. The C of I recorded a three-set high 50 kills and hit .342 as a team - their best mark of 2012, in the victory.
Set 1 started quickly for the Yotes, sprinting out to a 14-9 lead after a Sofia Anxo spike, but the Beacons (12-9, 5-6) battled back, closing the gap to 18-17 on a Hulsey hitting error. However, Hulsey put away a kill, followed by back-to-back Liz Myers blasts to extend the lead to 21-17 and cruised to the set win.
The middle frame featured 14 ties and seven lead changes, with the two squads deadlocked a final time at 23-23, before the Yotes got kills from Anxo and Jessica Peacock to take a two sets to none lead. The Coyotes used an 11-2 run, taking advantage of five NCU errors and three Myers kills, to lead 14-5. The Beacons rallied with seven straight points, capping the spurt with a Maren Mansfield solo block, closing to 14-12, but could not get closer.
Myers had 11 kills and five blocks in the win, with Jessica Peacock recording 11 kills without an attack error. Sierra Porter had 42 assists and seven digs, with Janel Porter adding 18 digs.
Chandler Gabrio had 11 kills for the Beacons, with Tami Brown logging 10 kills. Cori Wallace recorded 27 kills, 11 digs, and three aces for NCU, with libero Dana McGowan leading all players with 19 digs.
The Lady Yotes return home next weekend for home matches vs. Evergreen and Northwest.
