LA GRANDE, Ore. - The College of Idaho used a goal less than eight minutes into the game to take an early lead, rolling to a 4-0 victory over Eastern Oregon this afternoon at Snowflake Field.

The win for the Lady Yotes (3-4-1, 2-1 CCC) was their second in a row, their second this season against Eastern Oregon, and their first shutout of 2012.
The C of I scored first in the eighth minute, as Katy Radko made a run down the right side, driving a shot from just inside the 18 into the top shelf, just inside the far post, for a 1-0 lead.
The visitors tallied a pair of goals just 53 seconds apart midway through the half to break the game open. In the 29th minute, Kayla Bigelow played a through ball behind the Eastern (0-11, 0-3) defense to the feet of Jessica Ayala, who collected the ball, composed herself, and slotted home the tally. It was followed by a great unassisted goal from Brianna Blair, who made a run behind the EOU defense and knocked home her second of the season.
In the second half, the Yotes made it 4-0 in the 55th minute, as Brittney Lacey played a great through-ball to Sarah Hicks, who slotted home a shot to the near post.
The Mountaineers had a 20-11 edge in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks, but Coyote keeper Melissa Holmes-Joseph turned away six shots on goal for the shutout win. EOU had their best chance in the 78th minute, but a Maurianna Gonzalez shot clanged off the crossbar.
The Lady Yotes return home next weekend to host No. 1 ranked Concordia on Friday and Warner Pacific on Saturday.
