A four-year starter in basketball and football from 1933-37. Earned All-Northwest Conference honors in football and was selected as one of two ends on the All-Time College of Idaho football team. Received three Purple Hearts and rose to the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
