TWIN FALLS, Idaho – With all seven scoring runners in the Top-25 and a mere 39 second gap between the No. 1 and No. 5 scoring athlete, the College of Idaho men's cross country team opened with a solid finish at the CSI Cross Country Classic at Canyon Springs Golf Course.

Competing at the 7,000-meter distance for the first time ever, the Yotes used pack running to gain time late in the race – finishing with 53 team points, second only to Division I Weber State (20), the No. 10 ranked team in the Mountain Region. C of I finished ahead of host College of Southern Idaho (64) and rival Northwest Nazarene (101).
Junior
Marcos Cervantes made a huge push late in the race to place seventh overall (23:10), just ahead of teammate
Cole Campbell (23:13). All-American
Alex Martin was among the lead pack for the majority of the race before dropping back in the final kilometer, placing ninth (23:17).
Andrew Sutton took 14th (23:43) and
Collin Tracy placed 15th (23:48) to close out the Yotes scorers.
Jacob Stone earned the individual title for WSU with a time of 22:39, as the Wildcats claimed the top four spots in the race.
The Coyotes are off for two weeks in preparation for the Eastern Oregon Open in La Grande.
