LA GRANDE, Ore. – Despite coming off a trip to the conference tournament semifinals, the College of Idaho was picked to finish seventh in the 13-team Cascade Conference as the 2018 CCC Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll was released by the league office.
The Lady Yotes (7-9-2 in 2017) received one of the 13 first-place votes and earned 92 total voter points from the league coaches. C of I returns six starters from last season's team, including key performers
Erika Thompson and
Maddie Brown.
Defending league champion, Eastern Oregon, claimed 10 first-place votes and led all squads with 165 voter points, with Corban earning a first-place vote and ranked second (136 points). Rocky Mountain earned the final first-place vote and was tied with Northwest with 131 points in the third position, while Oregon Tech opens the season ranked fifth (119).
C of I opens up fall camp this weekend and will have a pair of scrimmages in preparation for their season opener on Aug. 24 at Sierra Nevada College.
