AUSTIN, Texas –College of Idaho swimmer
Maddy Kelly was honored as a first-team selection to the Google Cloud College Division Academic All-District 4 At-Large Team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Kelly was one of 10 student-athletes selected to the District 4 team – encompassing players from Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and all of Canada. Players are selected for both their athletic and academic prowess.
The At-Large team comprises student-athletes in Olympic Sports - Crew, Hockey, Swimming, Skiing, Fencing, Gymnastics, Water Polo, Tennis, Lacrosse, Field Hockey, Bowling, Golf, and Rifle.
The native of Lebanon, Ore., had a banner season for the Lady Yotes, earning three individual All-America honors and three relay All-America honors at the 2018 NAIA National Championshps, helping C of I to a seventh-place team finish. She was previously honored as a NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
It marks the third-straight year that a C of I swimmer has earned the award, as Mckayla Stevens was honored in both 2016 and 2017
Each of the All-District winners is now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-America award, to be announced later this month.
