HERMISTON, Ore. – Josh Brown won his second-straight Cascade Conference discus title, helping the College of Idaho to a fifth-place finish at the 2018 CCC Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Kennison Field.

The Coyotes finished with 77 team points in the two-day meet, behind team champ Eastern Oregon (208), Southern Oregon (168), Oregon Tech (144.5) and Corban (110).

Brown, the first competitor in the flight, recorded a mark of 46.47 meters (152 feet, 5 inches) with his second throw of the day – easily outdistancing the field by over two full meters.

The Yotes added a fourth-place finish from Keith Bailey in the triple jump (13.54 meters / 44 feet, 5 1/4 inches) and an eighth-place finish from Brooks Ney in the pole vault, clearing 4.15 meters (13 feet, 7 ¼ inches).

On the track, C of I nearly had a second conference title, as Alex Martin had an outstanding race in the late day heat, placing second in the 5,000-meters (15:01.43).  Earlier in the day, Dylan Haas took fifth (1:55.31) and Josh Frey placed eighth (1:57.39) in the 800-meters; Matt McLaughlin placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles (57.97); with the 4x400-meter relay team placing seventh (3:28.30).
