LA GRANDE, Ore. – For the ninth time in her career, College of Idaho's
Hayley Morse was named Red Lion-Cascade Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, announced today by the league office.
The senior, from Boise, had a dominant weekend at the Boise State Border Clash, placing third in each of the heavy throws – and holds the CCC's top mark in the shot put, discus and hammer throw heading into the CCC Championships.
Morse opened the meet on Friday night by placing second in the hammer throw with a school-record throw of 49.88 meters (163 feet, 8 inches), improving her NAIA "B" mark. Saturday, Morse upped the ante again, destroying her shot put school record with a heave of 14.26 meters (46 feet, 9.5 inches) – the No. 6 mark in the NAIA this season and over a foot and a half further than her previous mark.
