ASHLAND, Ore. –
Brooks Ney crushed his personal best mark in the decathlon by nearly 200 points, placing fifth overall at the 2018 Cascade Conference Multi-Event Championships at Raider Stadium.
Ney recorded 6,357 points in the two-day event, recording the No. 6 mark in the NAIA this season.
The senior placed second overall in yesterday's shot put, launching a career-best mark of 11.99 meters (39 feet, 4 inches), while opening today with a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (15.63).
Teammate
Caleb Brown placed eighth overall with 5,487 points – with the C of I duo combining for five team points.
Seth Gretz of Oregon Tech won the meet with a 10-event score of 6,895 points, with Corban taking the early lead in the CCC Championships with 17 total points, followed by OIT at 12, the Yotes and Southern Oregon (4).
