LA GRANDE, Ore. - A pair of College of Idaho student-athletes were honored as Red Lion-Cascade Conference Player of the Week recipients, announced by the league office.
Hayley Morse was named Women's Field Athlete of the Week after an outstanding trip to the San Francisco State Distance Carnival, while
Katie Growe was named Women's Golfer of the Week after earning medalist honors in Washington.
Morse, a senior from Boise, established a pair of school records over the weekend - winning the shot put with a heave of 45 feet, 3 inches, the No. 4 mark in the NAIA this season, while placing second in the hammer throw with a mark of 163 feet, 3 inches - breaking the previous mark by over five feet - hitting the NAIA "B" standard.
Growe, a sophomore from Draper, Utah, was dominant in her win at the Walla Walla Invitational, carding the two top rounds of the 36-hole tournament. She opened with a first round 84 and improved three strokes in her second 18.
