OREGON CITY, Ore. –
Chris Carew broke the College of Idaho 54-hole scoring record, carding a 4-under-par 212, earning medalist honors at the 2018 Warner Pacific Invitational at Stone Creek Golf Course.
Carew helped the Coyotes finished third overall in the 11 team field, finishing with a three-round score of 896 – their best team score since the 2009-10 season.
Corban (869) held off Oregon Tech (871) for the team title, 27 strokes ahead of C of I.
Both Carew and Devery Stewart of Corban shared the medalist honor (no post tournament tiebreaker was conducted) – with Carew carding rounds of 68-71-73, while Stewart matched him with rounds of 69-70-73. OIT's Mayson Tibbs was three shots back at 215.
Reed Burroughs (75-75-77 – 227) finished at 11-over-par, placing 16th, with
Michael Piazzini (72-79-78) taking 20th. Both
Blake Schulte (80-76-79 – 235) and
Clancy Cockerham (73-84-79 – 236) shot final round 79s to climb into the Top-40, with Peyton Richardson (88-78-83 – 249) rounding out the Coyote competitors.
C of I closes out the season in two weeks at the Cascade Conference Championships, hosted at Pronghorn Resort in Bend, Ore.
