HAYWARD, Calif. –
Hayley Morse crushed both the College of Idaho shot put and hammer throw school records, while
Molly Vitale-Sullivan hit the NAIA "A" standard in the 5,000-meters, part of a big Lady Yote effort at the two-day San Francisco State Distance Carnival at Chabot College.

Morse had a monster Saturday, becoming the first C of I thrower to surpass the 45-foot mark in the shot put and the first to clear the 160-foot mark in the hammer. The senior placed first of 38 athletes in the shot, recording the fourth-best throw in the NAIA this spring with a heave of 13.80 meters (45 feet, 3 1/2 inches), improving her NAIA "A" mark. She followed it up by breaking her hammer record by over five feet – establishing an NAIA "B" mark with her throw of 49.76 meters (163 feet, 3 inches).

Vitale-Sullivan competed in the second-fastest of the 5,000-meter sections, easily meeting the automatic national standard with her time of 17:15.40. Teammate
Kaitlyn Schut hit the conference mark in the event (18:38.34), while
Ashtyn Ellis hit the CCC standard in the 10,000-meters (39:10.54) and
Abigail Craig met the cut in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:41.47).

In the middle distances,
Payton Durocher met the CCC standard in the 400-meters (59.97), with Vitale-Sullivan doubling, hitting the mark in the 800-meters (2:19.77).

In the field events,
Claire Otero claimed the Lady Yotes second victory of the meet, winning the discus (40.66 meters / 133 feet, 5 inches); with
Stephanie Casaus hitting the league standard in the pole vault (3.05 meters / 10 feet) and
Keagan Utter met the standard in the shot put (11.52 meters / 37 feet, 9 1/2 inches).
