HAYWARD, Calif. – Quality marks both on the track and in the field events helped the College of Idaho men record eight new Cascade Conference provisional marks during the two-day San Francisco State Distance Carnival at Chabot College.
 
Five Coyotes met the CCC standard in the 5,000-meters – led by 
Alex Martin (15:08.03), with tandems of 
Cole Campbell (15:17.50) and 
Jerry Celestino (15:20.55), along with 
Erik Nordquist (15:17.72) and 
Quinn Radbourne (15:18.84) each worked together to meet the qualifying time.
 
In the middle distances, 
Brooks Ney punched his ticket with a solid time of 56.50 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles, with 
Dylan Haas hitting the standard in the 800-meters (1:56.41). 
Josh Frey and Haas each won their section of the 1,500-meters – Frey winning Section 9 (4:03.59) and Haas Section 11 (4:07.20), but just missed the CCC cut.
 
In the field events, senior 
Tyler Truksa had a huge day in the long jump, recording a personal best mark of 6.81 meters (22 feet, 4 1/4 inches) – vaulting him to No. 2 in the conference standings. 
Josh Brown launched a season-best mark of 46.47 meters (152 feet, 5 inches) in the discus; Ney recorded a season-best mark of 52.35 meters (171 feet, 9 inches) in the javelin, while 
Caleb Brown hit the conference standard in the high jump (1.84 meters / 6 feet, 1/4 inch).
 
The team will return to action in two weeks at the Northwest Nazarene Invitational.
