LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Two Top-40 finishes by the College of Idaho helped the Lady Yotes to a 15th-place team finish in today's alpine giant slalom competition at the USCSA National Championships on Whiteface Mountain.
Mary Totten had the 19th-fastest run of the afternoon, climbing nine spots to No. 30 in the individual standings (2:27.10) – finishing as the top C of I competitor. Teammate
Beth Mixon recorded a two-run time of 2:29.55 – placing 36th overall.
As a team, the Lady Yotes clocked a team time of 7:45.52 – ahead of Nevada, Duke, Lafayette, Fairfield and Stanford in the final standings. Sierra Nevada (6:54.35) claimed the team title, ahead of Rocky Mountain (6:57.29) and Castleton (7:08.29).
Two other C of I competitors completed two runs – as
Dana Randolph placed 78th (2:48.77) and hometown product
Erin Skufca placed 81st (2:51.27).
The Yotes will compete tomorrow in the Skier-Cross competition, before hitting the slalom trail on Thursday.
