CALDWELL, Idaho –
Nich Guzzetti scored five goals, including four in a huge second half for the College of Idaho, as the Coyotes picked up a huge 14-7 non-conference win over the University of Providence at Simplot Stadium.

The Yotes (5-2), ranked No. 20 in the latest MCLA Division II poll, erased a 4-2 UP lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Montana school 7-0 over a 25 minute span between the second and fourth quarters.

Two early goals from Joshua Smith and an unassisted strike from Dante Duran gave the Argos (1-6) a 4-2 lead with just under 10 minutes remaining in the half. C of I countered with goals from
R.J. Walker and Guzzetti in a 90-second span midway through the quarter to pull even, with a
Jason Leach strike late in the frame giving the Coyotes a 5-4 lead at the break.

C of I dominated the possession in the third quarter, as Guzzetti scored on a pair of unassisted attempts and
Cory Brady converted in the slot after a great pass from
Joey Brant.
Tyler Sanchez one-hopped a shot off a Brady pass from behind the cage to make it 9-4.

Duran pulled UP within 10-6 midway through the final quarter – but Brant and Walker combined on two goals and Guzzetti added a pair to put the game away.

Keeper
Jonah Jordan was outstanding in the second half for the Yotes, making 10 of his 13 saves after the break. Brady had two goals, an assist and a team-high nine ground balls, with Walker scoring three times and Brant adding two goals and two helpers.

Smith and Duran had two goals for the Argos, with goalie Jeremy Smith making 15 saves.

C of I returns to PNCLL South Division action next weekend with road matches at Portland State and Western Oregon.
