Lady Yotes Open Outdoor Season, Win EOU Team Challenge

HERMISTON, Ore. – NAIA qualifying marks by Molly Vitale-Sullivan and Hayley Morse led the College of Idaho to the championship of the 2018 Eastern Oregon Team Challenge at Kennison Field.

The Lady Yotes recorded 30 Cascade Conference provisional cuts on the day, racking up 193 team points – one more than Division II Central Washington (192) – and well ahead of Northwest Nazarene (124.5) and Eastern Oregon (103.5).

Vitale-Sullivan led a group of four C of I runners in the 10,000-meters – winning the race by nearly two minutes – with her time of 37:07.34 hitting the NAIA "A" standard, the third-fastest time in program history.

Morse headlined a banner day by the Lady Yote throwers – winning the shot put with a NAIA "B" mark (13.32 meters), placing second in the discus (37.35 meters) and setting the school record with a second-place finish in the hammer throw (48.10 meters).

Tamika Russell claimed a victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:41.75) and Claire Otero dominated the field with a win in the discus (40.72 meters).
