CALDWELL, Idaho – Bouncing back from a tough road trip to California, the College of Idaho rode a dominating performance to crush Central Washington, 25-3, in their home opener at Simplot Stadium.
Joey Brant scored a game-high seven goals and
Nich Guzzetti added six counters, as the No. 20 ranked Yotes (4-2) prepped for a key non-league showdown against the University of Providence on March 30.
The match was never in doubt – as Brant found
Tyler Sanchez for a score;
Cory Brady tallied an unassisted marker and found Brant for a goal, while Guzzetti scored unassisted to build a quick 4-0 lead.
Brant added three goals in the second quarter, as C of I took a 13-2 lead to the break – before blowing the game wide open by outscoring the Wildcats (2-3) 8-0 in the fourth quarter.
Jonah Jordan earned his first win in goal for the Coyotes, while Ayvion Fisher was dominant – winning 16-of-19 face offs.
R.J. Walker had five goals and Brady added three for C of I.
