SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Playing their second game in as many days in the Bay Area, the College of Idaho was victimized by a huge third quarter effort from UC-Santa Cruz, as the Banana Slugs rallied to top the Yotes, 19-13.
Cade Vlacos scored four of his six goals in a 7-0 run to close the third quarter - erasing an 11-10 lead by the Coyotes (2-2).
C of I played even through the opening 30 minutes, as
R.J. Walker and
Nich Guzzetti each scored three goals on the day and both
Cory Brady and
Joey Brant scored a pair.
Unfortunately, the Banana Slugs (2-5) peppered reserve goal keeper
Jonah Jordan - as Liam Rion added six goals for UCSC.
The Yotes will have next weekend off - as their game at Weber State has been forfeited by the Wildcats.
