LA GRANDE, Ore. - Three College of Idaho student-athletes were honored as this week's Red Lion-Cascade Conference Track and Field weekly award winners, announced by the league information office.
Molly Vitale-Sullivan was named Women's Track Athlete of the Week;
Josh Brown was named Men's Field Athlete of the Week, while
Alex Martin was named Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
Vitale-Sullivan had a huge weekend in Seattle, recording two NAIA "A" marks - one in the 5,000-meters at the Husky Invite and another in the 3,000-meters at the UW Open. Her time of 17:12 in the 5,000-meters was a school record and the No. 1 time in the NAIA this season.
Brown won the weight throw and set a personal best mark in the shot put at the BSU Team Challenge in Nampa, capping an outstanding indoor season.
Martin hit the NAIA "A" cut with his performance in the 3,000-meters at the UW Open, with his time of 9:20 among the Top-10 in the NAIA this season.
