Mary Totten recorded a gold and a silver medal on the day, as the College of Idaho women's alpine ski team clinched the 2018 Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference title on the final day of the season at Grouse Mountain.

Combining the seventh and eighth qualifiers into one day – the Coyote senior helped the Lady Yotes win the morning qualifier with an individual championship, while placing second in the afternoon run – leading C of I to a second-place finish. The big day helped Totten claim her second NWCSC Skier of the Year honor, with the Lady Yotes winning their fourth-straight team NWCSC championship.
C of I dominated the early session, with Totten blitzing the field with a two-run time of 1:32.35 – followed closely by teammates
Elyse Burandt (1:33.60) and
Beth Mixon (1:34.54). Burandt and Mixon joined Totten on the All-NWCSC team, earning the second and third-most points on the season.
The Yotes team time of 4:40.49 was well ahead of the University of Washington (4:54.55) and the University of Oregon (5:53.18).
UW flipped the order in the late race – as five Huskies placed in the Top-10 – to eke out a team win with a two-run time of 5:04.56. Totten placed second for the Yotes (1:38.79) and Mixon third (1:39.76), with C of I less than two second back of the winners (5:06.40).
Dana Randolph placed 11th for the Lady Yotes in the afternoon run;
Erin Skufca placed 13th in the morning run; with
Emily Gahn taking 16th in the late session.
The Yotes turn their attention to the USCSA Western Regionals, to be held in two weeks at Snow King in Jackson, Wyo.
