SEATTLE, Wash. – College of Idaho All-American
Molly Vitale-Sullivan recorded the best 5,000-meter mark in the NAIA this afternoon, breaking the indoor school record in the 5,000-meters at today's Husky Invitational inside the Dempsey Indoor Facility.
Racing against primarily NCAA Division I athletes, the sophomore placed 12th in the third section – with her time of 17:12.13 breaking the C of I record set by
Sora Klopfenstein at the 2014 NAIA Championships by nine seconds.
Vitale-Sullivan's time was 15 seconds faster than April Van Ryn's of Trinity Christian for the top mark in the NAIA this season.
Saturday, the bulk of the C of I squad will compete at the BSU Team Challenge in Nampa, while Sunday, seven athletes will race at the UW Open in Seattle.
