LA GRANDE, Ore. -
Josh Brown picked up his first Red Lion Cascade Conference Field Athlete of the Week honor earlier this week following his stellar performance in the men's weight throw last weekend.
Brown finished second - first among NAIA competitors - in the field of 21 competitors in the weight throw at the Bronco Invitational with his career-best distance of 16.70m. His mark was good for an NAIA 'B' mark and is second-best in school history.
Brown - who has been improving on his own marks every week this season - is coming off a successful outdoor season which culminated in a Cascade Conference Championship and trip to the NAIA Outdoor Championships in the discus.
The Yotes are off this coming weekend, but they will return to action on February 2-3. Brown will join the majority of the team at the Jackson's Invitational in Nampa while the multi-event athletes will be at the Mountain States Games in Pocatello.
