LA GRANDE, Ore. –
Molly Vitale-Sullivan placed third overall and
Erin Moyer took 12th to earn All-Cascade Conference honors, leading the College of Idaho to a second-place finish at the 2017 Cascade Conference Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Lane Farms.

C of I finished with 68 place points – just ahead of third-place Southern Oregon – but Oregon Tech put three runners in the Top-10 to earn their first league title, recording 53 place points. OIT earned the CCC's automatic bid to the NAIA Championships, but both the Yotes and SOU are each expected to earn an at-large bid.
Vitale-Sullivan traversed the 5,000-meter course in 18:14 – behind champion Jessa Perkinson (17:47) of SOU and OIT's Danielle De Castro (18:05). Moyer had a solid time of 19:05 to earn the all-league accolade, but C of I had an over one-minute gap between first and fifth-place, allowing Tech to earn the title.
Ashtyn Ellis placed 15th (19:10),
Tamika Russell took 17th (19:18) and
Chaye Uptmor finished 21st (19:35) to lead the C of I finishers.
With the expected at-large bid, the Yotes will next compete at the NAIA Championships in Vancouver, Wash., Nov. 17.
