ROCKLIN, Calif. – Placing seven runners in the overall Top-20, the College of Idaho gave defending national champion Southern Oregon everything they could handle – placing second at the Warrior Invitational, hosted by William Jessup University.

The Yotes had three Top-10 finishers and were the first team to have five scorers cross the finish line - recording 49 place points. SOU was just slightly better – with their team time 21 seconds faster than C of I, earning the title with 43 place points. Both teams were well ahead of three Top-25 foes – Westmont (75), The Masters (119) and Oregon Tech (125) – who rounded out the Top-5.
Alex Martin led the C of I scorers, placing fifth overall with a blistering 8,000-meter time of 25:00. Teammate
Andrew Sutton took eighth (25:02),
Marcos Cervantes placed tenth (25:11),
Quinn Radbourne was in 12th (25:16) and
Josh Frey placed 14th (25:19) – a gap of just 19 seconds from first to fifth-place.
Cole Campbell finished 17th (25:22) and
Jerry Celestino took 20th (25:31) to round out the Yotes scorers.
C of I closes out the regular-season in two weeks, traveling to La Grande, Ore., for the Cascade Conference Championships.
