ELSAH, Ill. – In her final collegiate race,
Lila Klopfenstein placed 23rd overall in a field of over 300 runners to earn her third All-America honor, helping the College of Idaho to a sixth-place finish at the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships at North Farm Cross Country Course.

The senior helped C of I to their best finish since back-to-back national runner-up placings in 2012 and 2013, with the Lady Yotes one of four Cascade Conference teams in the Top-10 (Northwest Christian at No. 2, Southern Oregon at No. 7 and Oregon Tech at No. 8). The Lady Yotes recorded a team-time of 1:31.49.98 and logged 273 place-points – behind champion British Columbia (90), Northwest Christian (135), Biola (166) Aquinas (180) and Oklahoma City (206).
Klopfenstein clocked a 5,000-meter time of 17:44 to lead the seven C of I competitors – with true freshman
Molly Vitale-Sullivan narrowly missing All-America accolades with a 31st-place finish (17:53).
Ashtyn Ellis placed 55th for the Yotes (18:17),
Emily Hawgood was 111th (18:53) and
Kaitlyn Schut took 123rd (19:01) to complete the five scoring C of I runners.
