LAWRENCE, Kan. - All-America performances by Lila Klopfenstein and Amy Pfaff highlighted a solid day for the College of Idaho, as the Lady Yotes placed 17th at the 2014 NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships at Rim Rock Farm.
Klopfenstein earns the honor for the second consecutive season, placing seventh overall in the field of 336 runners in a 5,000-meter time of 18:03.
Pfaff, a true freshman, capped a banner season with a 16th-place finish in a time of 18:23.
C of I, the two-time defending national runners-up, had a nearly 90 second gap between their second and third finishers, yet finished five spots higher than in the final regular-season NAIA poll and was the third highest team finisher of the four Cascade Conference squads.
British Columbia crushed the competition for their third-straight title, as individual winner Maria Bernard led three T-Bird runners in the Top-4. Â Lewis-Clark State placed second, followed by Northwest Christian, Carroll, and Dordt (Iowa).
